Council hopes people elect to vote early on 12 December

Polling stations being prepared for General Election.

Although on election day the weather outside might be frightful, Conservative led Wiltshire Council is working hard to ensure its polling stations are delightful.

Lots of newly registered electors confirmed for election

Since the General Election was formally announced there has been 25,366 newly registered electors in Wiltshire. 

There are also 69,027 registered postal voters.

The deadline to register to vote was 23:59 on 26 November 2019.

We're polls apart as majority of election venues remain the same

Our elections team has secured all but nine of their usual polling stations for the upcoming General Election.

Despite the busy Christmas period 348 out of 357 polling stations will remain the same on 12 December, they are detailed in the table below.

Danny Kruger selected as Conservative Parliamentary candidate for Devizes

A close aide of Prime Minister Boris Johnson has been selected as the Conservative Parliamentary candidate for Devizes.

Danny Kruger was chosen at a selection meeting at the Corn Exchange in Devizes this afternoon (Saturday), which was attended by nearly 300 local Conservative members.

The election is just a matter of weeks away and the team is recruiting poll staff, booking polling station venues and organising for postal votes and ballot cards to be sent out to the 366,000 electorate.

DCCA Selection of new MP

Devizes Constituency Conservative Association is organising the selection of a new parliamentary candidate.

The process has been overtaken by the calling of the General Election and under Party rules a short list of three is now put to the membership for decision.
