Our Conservative Future Chairman, Ellie Vesey-Thompson heads off to the Gambia

Ellie Vesey-Thompson, our Chairman of Conservative Future, heads off to the Gambia for a month in July, and is hosting a charity fund-raiser to raise funds for a charity project over there. The evening includes live music, a charity auction and a golden-envelope raffle. Auction items include a week in a luxurious Spanish villa, a day shooting, an art course and much more! the event is on Saturday 26th May, 8pm-11pm at The Theatre on the Hill (St John's). Michael Ancram given the Freedom of Devizes!

 Our Constituency’s former Member of Parliament, Michael Ancram was admitted to the Roll of Honorary Freemen of the town of Devizes at a special ceremony on Thursday 6th October.

In a ceremony that dates back to 1974, Mr Ancram, now Lord Lothian was given this special honour at the Town Hall, Assembly Room having served as the town’s MP between 1992 and 2010.  

The resolution to grant Lord Lothian the Freedom was made by Cllr. Charles Winchcombe, who described him as an outstanding ambassador for the town.  After the motion was unanimously adopted by Devizes Town Council, Judge John McNaught, the Honorary Recorder of Devizes, delivered an informative and entertaining address in support.
